Adam and I are the owners of Kimberley Off-Road Adventure Tours and have a young family of our own. Therefore, we understand the importance of spending time together and making memories as a family. If your kids are anything like ours, they do not sit still, always jumping, diving, running; and very inquisitive, always eager to learn.
The Kimberley region in Western Australia is one of the most remote and unspoiled destinations, and has so much to offer for all ages. With its towering gorges, vast deserts, and rich indigenous culture, this landscape provides a family adventure like no other. This is why we have crafted family-friendly Kimberley tours.

The Kimberley harnesses so many interactive experiences that captivate even the youngest explorers. We are one of the only operators that offer family Kimberley tours during the 2025 school holidays - April, July, September, and October. We understand that families come in all shapes and sizes, and so do your needs. Not every family is looking for the same kind of adventure, and Kimberley Off-Road Adventure Tours offers a range of options to suit different interests and energy levels. You can opt for shorter trips that allow young children to enjoy the sights without too much exertion, or for more challenging experiences that older kids and adults can tackle together. There is something for everyone.

We provide a hands-on experience without compromising on safety. We get the kids involved with the campfire, cooking in the camp ovens, spotting the wildlife and having games on the truck between sites.
Family-friendly Kimberley tours are open to children of all ages and we alter our standard itineraries to suit the group. We carry a maximum of 17 passengers and departure dates can be found on our website here (or simply get in touch). All our other tours outside the school holiday period have a minimum age limit of 10 years.
We are the only Kimberley tour operator that spends a night camping on an island on Lake Argyle. We also tick off the big Kimberley draw cards such as completing the entire Gibb River Road and visiting El Questro Station, Emma Gorge, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. We take the 4x4 track into Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles) and explore Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm.

If tours are not your thing and you would rather be the one behind the wheel, we also have a range of 4x4 hire cars via our sister company - Getaway Rentals. We have designed the set-ups in the vehicles to make them user-friendly, and perfect for the family.
Our Toyota Hilux campers have two roof top tents so you can sleep 2 x adults and 3 x children comfortably. We provide all the cooking and camping gear to make it a stress-free adventure. We can also help with planning your itinerary, so you know the best places to visit and stay.
